To work under the ECO scheme an installer will need to hold PAS2030:2035 accreditation for every measure they wish to install under the scheme.

All installers will need to be TrustMark registered and only work with products and materials approved by Ofgem.

To join our installer network you must be PAS 2030:2035 certified and the services you provide must meet our standard terms and conditions. Solar PV and air source heat pump installer will need to hold MCS certification (Microgeneration Certification Scheme).

What does PAS2030:2035 mean?
PAS 2030:2035 is a standard that was introduced to support the rollout of government energy efficiency measures. As a PAS 2030:2035 certified installer you can work under the ECO scheme and secure funding and have a competitive advantage when quoting or responding to tenders.
By achieving PAS certification your company is demonstrating compliance across the supply chain.
It is important to remember that there is an individual assessment and certification for each ECO measure, and it is worth noting that the cost associated with this is for each measure type.
The installation of solar panels and air source heat pumps does not require PAS 2030:2035 but the installer will need to be accredited with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)

What is MCS?
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an industry recognised assurance that the products and installation company have met a consistent industry standard every time.
For installation companies working under the Energy Company Obligation, it is a requirement to have MCS accreditation for the installation of solar panels and air source heat pumps as these measures do not require PAS2030:2035 certification.
